XRP Asia launches in Singapore to expand XRPL ecosystem

Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation have officially launched XRP Asia, a new independent organization headquartered in Singapore. The initiative aims to expand the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem across the Asia-Pacific region by supporting developers, startups, and financial institutions.

Led by Sabrina Tachdjian, the former vice president of the Hedera Foundation, XRP Asia will focus on four key areas: technology, startup growth, community building, and marketing. The organization plans to offer developer training, hackathons, micro-grants, and a System Integrator Partnership Program to help integrate XRPL into enterprise systems. Support for startups will include incubation, investor connections, and go-to-market assistance.

The announcement coincided with the XRP Seoul 2026 event, which drew over 5,000 attendees. During the event, discussions highlighted the potential for tokenized deposits and cross-border payments, featuring representatives from several South Korean financial institutions, including Kbank, Kyobo Securities, Woori Bank, and Jeonbuk Bank.

Looking ahead, Ripple intends to increase the volume of customer payments routed through the XRPL by 2027. This strategy includes exploring credit-related pilots and utilizing pooled XRP as collateral for customer payments.
