XRP falls below $1 amid security concerns and declining activity

XRP has experienced significant downward pressure, falling below the psychologically critical $1 mark for the first time since November 2024. The decline was exacerbated by reports of 200,000 XRP being removed from the Coreum cross-chain bridge, raising security concerns among investors.

Market volatility has been further fueled by a slowdown in spot XRP ETF inflows and a 44% drop in XRP Ledger transaction activity. Additionally, the derivatives market saw approximately $8.45 million in liquidations, with long positions accounting for the vast majority of the losses.

Despite the bearish price action and a decline in market capitalization, some data suggests whale accumulation is occurring. Reports indicate that large holders have added approximately 380 million XRP to their holdings in a single week. Analysts are now closely watching the upcoming US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, as macroeconomic indicators are expected to play a decisive role in future market direction.
