XRP faces conflicting technical signals amid Ripple escrow release

XRP is currently experiencing significant market volatility and technical shifts. Analysts are debating whether recent price movements represent a decline or a precursor to a major rally. One analyst, Thea Grace X, suggests that XRP is currently in a phase of forming bull traps, noting that previous cycles required a return to a specific “launchpad” support level near $0.50 before a sustained breakout.

Other technical analysis suggests a more bullish outlook. Analyst Steph Is Crypto identifies a potential breakout pattern, noting that an inverted chart actually shows rising support. This pattern previously preceded major rallies in 2021 and late 2024. Short-term targets include $2.10 if the $1.43 resistance is broken, while long-term projections suggest a move toward $3.68 or even as high as $20 based on historical trendline structures.

On the institutional side, Ripple recently completed its monthly XRP escrow process. While the release of 1 billion XRP often triggers theories regarding price suppression, on-chain data shows that 700 million XRP was re-escrowed, leaving 300 million XRP in a Ripple-controlled wallet. This movement has led some observers to question the theory that these distributions are designed to dump tokens on the market.
