XRP faces price stagnation despite Ripple Prime launch and high trading volumes
XRP is experiencing a divergence between increased institutional platform utility and stagnant market price. Ripple recently launched Ripple Prime, a platform enabling 24/7 trading across more than 100 traditional markets, including stocks, ETFs, commodities, and currencies. While major market makers like Virtu Financial have begun using the service, the XRP token price has remained largely stagnant near the $1.30 level.
Data from CryptoQuant indicates that whale activity on Binance has dropped to a five-year low. The 90-day average of large XRP outflows from the exchange has fallen to approximately $49.7 million, representing a nearly 99 percent decrease from the highs seen in early 2025 when the average reached roughly $3.5 billion. This decline in outflows suggests a lack of accumulation by large investors, which may hinder potential price recovery.
On the South Korean exchange Upbit, XRP trading volume recently surpassed Bitcoin's, reaching $145.57 million in a 24-hour period. However, the lack of a significant 'Kimchi premium' suggests this volume is driven by rapid high-frequency trading rather than sustained long-term demand. Additionally, ETF outflows of $1.84 million in a single week have contributed to ongoing selling pressure.
