XRP Futures Open Interest Hits 3-Month Low on Binance

Data from Binance shows that open interest in XRP futures contracts has fallen to about 397 million XRP, the lowest level in more than three months. The decline coincides with the token trading near $1.09‑$1.13, a drop of more than 40 % year‑to‑date.

Crypto research platforms (BankXRP, CryptoQuant, Santiment) report a concurrent slump in trading activity: the Binance Volume Z‑Score is negative (around –0.59) indicating below‑average volume, while spot inflows have weakened, with active wallets and new wallet creations hitting multi‑month lows. Long‑position liquidations have risen sharply (up 94 % weekly), whereas short liquidation rates have fallen.

Funding rates on Binance turned sharply negative before rising again, suggesting pessimistic sentiment that could precede a reversal. Some analysts note that reduced leverage may improve market stability and that spot demand, if it strengthens, could support a price breakout. Bullish technical views point to potential resistance breakthroughs around $1.12‑$1.20, but the overall picture remains one of diminished speculative participation and cautious positioning across the XRP derivatives market.
