XRP Ledger sees growth in RWA holders and shifting wealth distribution
The XRP ecosystem has seen significant shifts in holder distribution and asset types throughout 2026. Data indicates that the number of addresses holding tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has grown by nearly 48,000 since the beginning of the year. According to RWA.xyz, the number of RWA-holding addresses rose from 37,753 at the start of 2026 to 85,706, reaching an all-time high of 86,794 in early September. This growth has been largely driven by stablecoin holders, including significant activity from Ripple USD (RLUSD).
Simultaneously, discussions regarding the concentration of XRP wealth have emerged. Some observers have noted a shrinking “rich list,” suggesting a potential expansion of the network across more users. However, data analysis shows that wealth remains highly concentrated, with the top 0.01% of accounts holding millions of XRP. While some enthusiasts interpret the changing distribution as a sign of broader blockchain adoption, others have expressed skepticism regarding the correlation between ecosystem growth and XRP price performance.
