XRP liquidity hits five-year low on Binance as price stays under pressure

The 30‑day liquidity index for XRP on Binance has fallen to about 0.043, the lowest level in five years, indicating a severely thinned order book. Large withdrawals – roughly 403 million XRP in mid‑May followed by another 49 million‑dollar outflow – have reduced the amount of XRP available for trade on the platform, making the market more reactive to individual trades.

At the same time, XRP’s price has slid about 34 % since the start of the year and sits roughly 64 % below its previous annual high, reflecting a broader bearish sentiment among investors. Analysts note that while the reduced on‑exchange liquidity does not yet imply a price collapse, it could increase volatility if substantial trades occur.

The situation underscores a shift in how major holders are moving XRP from public order books to over‑the‑counter or institutional venues, a trend that may further dampen visible market depth for retail traders.
