XRP price sinks to four‑month low amid crypto sell‑off and leverage flush

The XRP token fell to about $1.14, its lowest level in four months, after a broad crypto market sell‑off that erased roughly $390 billion in value in a week. The drop was driven by capital outflows, a sharp leverage‑driven liquidation sweep on Bybit and high open interest on Binance, which retained most of its exposure. Institutional interest continued, with XRP ETFs drawing a net $132 million in May, the strongest month since their launch.

Technical analysis highlighted a breach of the $1.30 support zone and a move into the $1.05‑$1.10 range, where buyers defended a macro‑support level around $1.09. The token rebounded to $1.16 by early June as traders bought the dip. Concurrently, activity on the XRP Ledger grew, with daily transactions up 35% in Q1 2026 and tokenized assets exceeding $385 million, signalling expanding institutional use.

Analysts note that despite the rebound, XRP remains below major moving averages and faces further downside risk, while the market watches Binance’s large open interest for possible renewed volatility.
