Ripple's XRP Gains Momentum Amid Legal Clarity and SWIFT Pilot
Ripple is weighing a pro‑rata distribution of its XRP holdings to shareholders as it navigates a $150 million SEC lawsuit that began in 2020 and was settled in 2025. CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the legal resolution removes a major institutional hurdle, while the company continues to expand its on‑chain credit infrastructure and stablecoin offerings.
At the same time, SWIFT has launched a blockchain‑based pilot for tokenised cross‑border payments, enrolling more than 30 banks—including HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Santander and JPMorgan—that are linked to Ripple’s On‑Demand Liquidity network. The pilot validates Ripple’s model and is seen as a bullish catalyst for XRP.
Technical analysts note that XRP is trading near $1.10, with key resistance at $1.22 and $1.60. Moving‑average compression (50 EMA, 100 EMA and 144 WMA) has formed, a pattern historically preceding strong up‑moves; some project prices could reach $31 if the pattern repeats. Momentum indicators show a hidden bullish divergence on the weekly RSI.
Additional developments include Japan’s move toward crypto ETFs, Ripple’s upcoming MiCA licence in the EU and continued growth of tokenised real‑world assets on the XRP Ledger, now exceeding $3.5 billion. Together, legal clarity, institutional adoption and technical signals suggest a potential breakout for XRP.
