XRP whale accumulation hits five-year low amid rising exchange reserves
XRP is experiencing significant shifts in investor behavior and market liquidity. On-chain data indicates that whale accumulation, measured by XRP outflows from exchanges to private wallets, has dropped to its lowest 90-day moving average since October 2021. Analysts suggest that large investors may be waiting for more attractive price points before re-entering the market, noting that recent price resilience has prevented the deep corrections seen in previous years.
Simultaneously, XRP exchange reserves have approached one-year highs, reaching approximately 11.81 billion tokens across all exchanges. While total reserves are rising, Binance has seen a decrease in open long positions, with the dollar value of futures positions dropping by roughly 15.8% between October 4 and October 17. This period also saw significant liquidations of long positions totaling $25.7 million. Despite the decline in whale transaction volume, net inflows to Binance have continued, suggesting a divergence in how supply is being distributed across different trading platforms.
