XRP whales boost holdings 2.8% as retail investors trim positions

On-chain analytics from Santiment show that over the past five weeks wallets holding between 100,000 and 100 million XRP increased their combined balances by 2.8%, while smaller wallets (under 1,000 XRP) reduced theirs by 5.2%. The shift coincided with XRP’s price climbing from around $1 in late June to above $1.16, trading near $1.13 at the time of reporting.

Analysts link the accumulation to growing institutional interest, including expectations of a U.S.‑based XRP ETF and recent regulatory victories for Ripple. The XRP Ledger’s developments, such as the RLUSD stablecoin, also bolster confidence among large investors. Meanwhile, trading volume fell about 30%, and large‑holder deposits to Binance declined, indicating fewer immediate sales.

The market capitalisation stands at roughly $71 billion, with the price trend historically tracking movements of major stakeholders rather than retail participants.
