Xàtiva City Council faces dispute over failed town hall renovation
The Xàtiva City Council is facing political scrutiny following the failed rehabilitation project of its town hall building. The local opposition, Partido Popular, has criticized Mayor Roger Cerdà’s administration for the economic consequences of a contract that was awarded but never formalized.
According to municipal documentation, the council has already paid 3,970.08 euros to the awarded company, Atilcobra SA, as compensation for the non-formalization of the contract. Following this payment, Atilcobra SA submitted a second claim for 15,570.49 euros, citing 471.96 hours of work performed after being named the successful bidder.
The Xàtiva administration has rejected this additional claim through administrative channels, maintaining that its actions align with technical reports and have helped limit municipal expenditure. However, the company retains the option to pursue the matter through administrative litigation.
