Xàtiva nears 39°C as extreme heat hits Comunitat Valenciana
Extreme heat is affecting the Comunitat Valenciana region in Spain, with temperatures approaching 39 degrees Celsius. In Xàtiva, the maximum temperature reached 38.7 degrees, making it the hottest point in the autonomous community.
Other high temperatures were recorded in Carcaixent at 37.1 degrees, Atzeneta del Maestrat at 36.8 degrees, and Llíria at 36.7 degrees. In the province of Alicante, Elche and Villena reached 36.5 degrees. While coastal cities like Valencia and Alicante saw slightly lower temperatures due to sea breezes, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has warned of an upcoming episode of extreme heat expected to continue through the week.
