Xàtiva opens Fira d’Agost 2026 with international tourism goals

The Fira d’Agost 2026 has officially opened in Xàtiva, marked by an inaugural ceremony featuring speeches from Mayor Roger Cerdà and Queen Nadín Ferrando. The event highlights a dual focus on growth and tradition.

Mayor Cerdà emphasized the festival's expanding scale, noting that last year saw over 300,000 visitors including residents and minors. He expressed the ambition to have the Fira d’Agost recognized as a Festival of International Tourist Interest, leveraging the city's history and culture to attract more visitors from outside Spain.

Queen Nadín Ferrando focused on the emotional and traditional aspects of the fair, emphasizing its importance to local families and its role in preserving the city's identity during the month of August.
