Xu Zhongxin leads registration for new Legislative Yuan session

The 11th Legislative Yuan's 6th session commenced on September 1, with Taiwan People's Party legislator Xu Zhongxin being the first to register. Xu arrived at the Legislative Yuan at 9:30 PM the previous night, waiting 11 hours to secure the first spot. He stated his early arrival was intended to demonstrate his dedication to serving the people and his commitment to his duties.

Following Xu, Democratic Progressive Party legislator Guo Guowen arrived around 6:00 AM, marking the second registration. Guo noted that while he had previously held the record for being the first to register in every session of the 11th term, he was surpassed this time. He expressed hope that the new session would normalize legislative operations following delays in the previous year's general budget review.

Kuomintang legislator Lin Defu was the third to register. Lin emphasized the importance of economic improvement and cross-strait peace, while calling for the government to adhere to the constitution. He also noted that the opposition would continue to supervise the government, particularly regarding budget allocations, while supporting necessary expenditures.
