Xuân Son secures record-breaking contract with Thép Xanh Nam Định

Xuân Son, a prominent striker for Thép Xanh Nam Định and the Vietnam national team, has secured one of the most significant financial contracts in V. League history. Originally a Brazilian player, he naturalized as a Vietnamese citizen and played a key role in the team's 2026 ASEAN Cup victory.

Under his current contract, which runs until 2031, Xuân Son reportedly earns a monthly salary of approximately 25,000 USD (600 million VND). This equates to over 7 billion VND in annual salary. Beyond base pay, his signing bonuses are substantial; based on previous estimates of at least 250,000 USD per year, his total signing bonuses over a six-year period could reach approximately 36 billion VND.

These figures place him ahead of player Hoàng Đức, who previously held a record with a 30 billion VND signing bonus for a three-year contract, making Xuân Son the highest-paid player in terms of signing bonuses in Vietnamese football history.
