Galicia allocates 40 million euros to defense and aerospace innovation

The Xunta de Galicia has announced a 40 million euro public investment to promote the development and manufacturing of products and services within the defense, security, and aerospace sectors. This funding is part of the Strategic Initiative for Security, Defense, and Aerospace (Iesda) and utilizes a pre-commercial public procurement model to finance advanced innovation projects.

The regional government aims to mobilize a total of 900 million euros in investments to boost existing companies and integrate new ones working with dual technologies—those having both civil and defense applications. During a visit to Vig-Sec Drone in Nigrán, Economy and Industry Minister María Jesús Lorenzana highlighted the region's growing capacity in aeronautical services and airspace management software.
