Xunta de Galicia to upgrade bus stops in Carnota

The Xunta de Galicia has launched a tender exceeding 1.1 million euros to improve bus stops along the AC-550 highway in Carnota and nine other municipalities. The project aims to enhance safety and accessibility for public transport users.

Planned works include upgrading bus pull-offs, improving entry and exit wedges, and renovating pedestrian paths to remove obstacles for people with reduced mobility. In areas currently lacking sidewalks, the project will create accessible routes with appropriate widths and pavements for visually impaired individuals. Additionally, the plan involves installing urban or rural shelters and renewing horizontal and vertical signage.

The contract has an 18-month execution period and includes complementary tasks such as drainage improvements, service duct installation, and the construction of stone walls and metal railings. This investment is co-financed by European Feder funds for the 2021-2027 period.
