Xuxa launches final tour, retires iconic spaceship but says she isn’t retiring

Brazilian presenter Xuxa Meneghel, now 63, announced the launch of her tourO Último Voo da Nave,” which begins with a show on 25 July in São Paulo. The tour will serve as a farewell to the iconic spaceship and glittery costume that defined her children’s programmes since the 1980s, a symbol she wants to retire to move beyond that youthful image.

Xuxa emphasized that the retirement of the spaceship does not mean she is ending her career. She said, “I’m not thinking about retirement,” and explained that the pressure to stay young comes from both the public and herself. She plans to continue working in television, expand her involvement in social causes, and use her platform for vegan, LGBT+ and child‑protection advocacy. She also mentioned her long‑term relationship with partner Junno, dating back to 2012, as a source of personal balance.

The tour aims to close one chapter while opening space for new projects, with Xuxa expressing optimism about future work beyond the iconic “nave.”
