Xuxa Meneghel and Soraya Thronicke reaffirm support for Lula

Brazilian television presenter Xuxa Meneghel and Senator Soraya Thronicke have reaffirmed their support for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Xuxa Meneghel published a photo of the president on social media to clarify her political stance following the circulation of a misleading video. The presenter clarified that the video being used by opponents was actually from 2022 and was directed at former president Jair Bolsonaro, rather than the current administration. She stated that those who believe she could be speaking against the current president do not know her.

Senator Soraya Thronicke also signaled her support for Lula through social media. Thronicke, who joined the PSB in April 2026, addressed critics by stating she prioritizes doing what is right and just over seeking mass validation. Her political trajectory includes previous affiliations with União Brasil and Podemos, and she was formerly associated with the PSL during the early years of the Bolsonaro administration.
