Xuxa Meneghel disputes carnival designer's request for tribute recognition

A public dispute has emerged between carnival designer Cahê Rodrigues and television presenter Xuxa Meneghel regarding the recognition of her history with Rio de Janeiro's samba schools.

Rodrigues, who designed the 2004 theme ‘Xuxa e Seu Reino Encantado no Carnaval da Imaginação’ for the Caprichosos de Pilares samba school, requested that Meneghel acknowledge this tribute during her farewell tour, ‘O Último Voo da Nave’. In an interview, Rodrigues expressed a desire for the artist to take pride in the parade, which featured her family and various celebrities.

Meneghel responded to the request by stating that Rodrigues had never contacted her directly. She described the public demand for recognition as ‘deselegante’ (inelegant), noting that he was making claims about her position without having communicated with her personally.
