Y Combinator Launches QM, Open‑Source Multiplayer AI Agent for Startups
Y Combinator has released QM, an open‑source multiplayer agent harness aimed at startup teams. QM gives each employee an isolated AI workspace with its own scoped memory, file system, keychain view, permissions, cron jobs and durable sandbox, while also supporting shared channels and projects for collaborative work. The same identity and configuration are available in Slack and a web application, allowing seamless movement between the two interfaces. Administrators can set organization‑level policies, security postures and control which AI harnesses and models are offered. QM can run on a variety of models, including Pi, OpenCode, Codex and Claude Code, so deployments are not tied to a single vendor. The platform enables users to search internal notes, emails and databases, build and publish internal web apps, automate tasks such as testing and CI monitoring, and even learn a user’s writing style to triage inboxes.
