Yaşar Güler commemorates Caucasus Islamic Army in Ankara

Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attended a ceremony in Ankara to commemorate the martyrs of the Caucasus Islamic Army and the Azerbaijani National Forces who fought for the liberation of Baku on September 15, 1918.

The event, organized by the Turkey-Azerbaijan Friendship and Cooperation Foundation (TADİV) under the theme ‘One Nation, Two States: Brotherhood Sealed in Blood in 1918’, included the unveiling of the Caucasus Islamic Army Monument.

During the program, Minister Güler emphasized the unbreakable bond between the two nations, stating, ‘The strength of Türkiye is the strength of Azerbaijan, and the strength of Azerbaijan is the strength of Türkiye.’ He noted that the monument serves to preserve the memory of the heroes who fought for Azerbaijan's independence and ensures their shared history is passed to future generations.
