Yacuiba Mayor's Office accuses Council of budget blackmail

The Yacuiba Mayor's Office has accused the Municipal Council of “boicot y chantaje” (boycott and blackmail) regarding the approval of the 2027 Annual Operating Plan (POA). The administration claims the Council is stalling the budget process to demand an increase in its own resources, seeking to raise its budget from Bs 4.6 million to over Bs 10 million.

The municipal executive warns that this dispute could jeopardize the planning of essential works and projects for the population. While the Council seeks to more than double its funding, the Mayor's Office maintains that municipal resources should be prioritized for public needs rather than internal political disputes.
