Yadea and Spiro partner to expand electric mobility in Africa

Chinese electric two-wheeler manufacturer Yadea has entered a strategic partnership with Spiro to expand electric mobility across Africa. The agreement combines Yadea’s manufacturing and R&D capabilities with Spiro’s established operational network and battery-swapping ecosystem.

Under the deal, Yadea will supply electric two-wheelers and related products specifically tailored for African markets. The companies intend to co-develop customized platforms designed for local road conditions and commercial utility. This collaboration aims to serve commercial fleet operators, logistics providers, and daily commuters.

Spiro currently operates a fleet of more than 130,000 electric motorcycles and 2,500 battery-swap stations across West and East Africa. While Yadea has previously established commercial partnerships in over 20 African countries, this partnership is intended to scale its presence by leveraging Spiro’s existing infrastructure.
