YADIM condemns mosque and Quran destruction in Nepal

The Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) has strongly condemned the destruction and burning of a mosque in Golbazar, Siraha, Nepal, following recent community tensions. YADIM President Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom stated that the incident, which also resulted in the destruction of copies of the Quran and Hadith materials, contradicts the values of humanity, peace, and harmony.

Bahrom emphasized that religious freedom should not be used as a justification to insult or damage the religion and places of worship of any party. He urged that community tensions be resolved through dialogue and legal channels rather than provocation, violence, or religious retaliation.

YADIM has called on Nepalese authorities to conduct a thorough, transparent, and fair investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable. Additionally, the organization urged the public to show compassion toward those affected by recent flooding in Nepal rather than exploiting the disaster.
