Yael Stone to host Muswellbrook energy transition job forum
Yael Stone, founder of Hi Neighbour, is hosting a ‘Love Your Work’ event in Muswellbrook on Saturday, October 24. The forum aims to support regional communities navigating the energy transition by focusing on economic opportunities and local employment.
Stone, a former actress, emphasized the need to listen to voices within the coal mining industry and advocate for upskilling, particularly for young people, to prepare them for upcoming roles in the renewable energy sector. The free event will feature a live career panel with local experts, a short film screening, and a musical performance by ARIA winner Elana Stone.
The initiative is co-hosted by Darryl Best, a lifetime coal miner, to facilitate a two-way learning process between industry workers and those involved in the energy transformation.
