Yafa Rasad leaders ban random gunfire at social events
Community leaders and social figures from the villages of Hadhah, Shaqban, and Sha'rah in the Yafa Rasad district of Abyan Governorate have signed an agreement to ban random gunfire during weddings and social celebrations.
The initiative aims to protect lives and maintain public peace by preventing accidents caused by the reckless use of weapons during festivities. Under the new agreement, event hosts are held directly responsible for informing guests of the ban and ensuring compliance.
Violators will face a fine of 300,000 Yemeni riyals, with proceeds directed to the local school. Additionally, those who refuse to pay or comply may face community boycotts, including a lack of social support or participation in their future events. The agreement also allows for legal action and reporting to security authorities.
