Yaguajay hosts colloquium honoring Camilo Cienfuegos

The 33rd Colloquium on the Life and Work of Camilo Cienfuegos took place in Yaguajay, Cuba, to honor the legendary revolutionary commander. Approximately 300 participants, including combatants, scholars, writers, and members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and Ministry of the Interior, gathered at the Camilo Cienfuegos Historical Complex.

More than thirty works spanning literature, music, plastic arts, and historical research were presented across five commissions. The event facilitated a dialogue between generations, as older participants shared anecdotes regarding Camilo Cienfuegos while students and young military members discussed his enduring legacy.

The presented works will be added to the documentary fund of the Camilo Cienfuegos National Museum, which currently holds more than 2,000 items. Despite current economic restrictions in the country, organizers noted the meeting was productive in maintaining the historical and cultural study of the leader.
