Yahşihan Deputy Mayor election triggers political tension in Kırıkkale

Following the removal of Yahşihan Deputy Mayor Aydın Demirdirek by the Ministry of Interior, a new election process for the deputy mayoralty has commenced. The political landscape in Kırıkkale has become strained as local leaders and party officials navigate the transition.

In a show of local solidarity, Sulakyurt Mayor Seyfettin Çetiner and other district mayors visited Hamdi Açıkgöz to congratulate him on his election as the new Yahşihan Deputy Mayor. During the visit, officials discussed urban projects and the importance of coordination between local administrations.

Simultaneously, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Kırıkkale Provincial Presidency announced disciplinary action against Municipal Council Member Tuğrul Yurtoğlu. The party stated that Yurtoğlu violated organizational discipline and the People's Alliance agreement by announcing his own candidacy despite the party's decision to support a specific candidate. MHP Provincial Chairman Mekki Varol emphasized that no individual will stand above the party's institutional will.
