Yahşihan population nearly doubles with return of university students

The return of university students for the new academic year has nearly doubled the daily floating population in the Yahşihan district of Kırıkkale. With approximately 32,000 students residing in the area, the district's base population of 39,000 has seen significant activity.

According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, 7,650 students have already been placed in dormitories across the province. Officials reported that the housing needs of all students who earned the right to stay in dormitories have been met, with no students currently on waiting lists.

For the new term, monthly dormitory fees are set at 1,455 TL. Students receive a daily nutrition support of 300 TL, which covers breakfast (110 TL) and dinner (190 TL), making these meals free of charge. Dormitory services include access to laundry and drying machines, internet, 24-hour hot water, security, and free psychological counseling. Hamza Güneş, the Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, visited the facilities to meet with students and their families during the registration process.
