Yahoo Sports launches college fantasy football game; SMU tops ACC rankings

Yahoo Sports announced on July 17 that it is adding a collegiate fantasy football game, with league drafts scheduled to begin on August 3. The platform released its first "Top‑300" player rankings drawn from 68 Power‑4 schools, introducing a new "Team Offense" position and removing kickers.

SMU leads the Atlantic Coast Conference with nine players placed in the Top‑300, surpassing Louisville (eight) and Miami (seven). Quarterback Kevin Jennings is ranked 14th overall and second among ACC quarterbacks, while running back Kendrick Raphael appears at 22nd overall. The rankings also feature Arch Manning at the top spot, reflecting his combined passing and rushing production.

The launch expands fantasy football beyond the NFL, giving college fans a new way to engage with the sport as the 2024 season approaches.
