Yahoo Weather app redesign launches in Canada with enhanced radar and minute‑by‑minute forecasts

Yahoo has released a major redesign of its Weather app for iOS, making it available to users in Canada and worldwide. The update introduces a cleaner interface, a daily narrative that explains forecast changes, and minute‑by‑minute precipitation forecasts through MinuteCast.

Radar capabilities have been overhauled with faster, more responsive maps, a future‑radar view showing where weather systems are heading, and enhanced interactive features. The app now provides a broader set of environmental data, including air quality, pollen, UV index, wind, humidity, visibility and moon phases, and offers personalized notifications and tappable severe‑weather widgets.

Mike Park, Head of Yahoo Weather, said the redesign aims to give users “smarter forecasts, more unique insights and a beautifully designed experience.” Data for the forecasts comes from AccuWeather, and Yahoo promoted the launch with TV personality Kyle Cook serving as the official “Weatherboy.”
