YAIBA: Samurai Legend season 2 to premiere in January 2027

The second season of the anime series ‘YAIBA: Samurai Legend’, titled the ‘Kaguya Arc’, is scheduled to premiere on January 9, 2027. The series is based on the adventure manga by Gosho Aoyama, which originally ran from 1988 to 1993.

WIT STUDIO will continue to handle animation production, with Studio Kurm participating in animation cooperation. The production team includes director Takahiro Hasui, series composition by Touko Machida, and character design by Yoshimichi Kameda. The musical score will be composed by Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa.

The voice cast features Minami Takayama as Yaiba Kurogane, Manaka Iwami as Sayaka Mine, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Takeshi Onimaru. The new season follows the first season, which aired from April to September 2025.
