Yaiza announces annual subsidies for local athletes

The Yaiza City Council has announced annual individual subsidies to support local athletes in their preparation for official competitions during the 2025 season. The deadline for submitting the required documentation is October 4.

The municipal aid program has a total budget of 15,000 euros, with a maximum grant of 3,000 euros per athlete. While designated for individual athletes, the regulations specify that those competing in pairs or small teams—such as doubles tennis, padel, sailing, or 3x3 basketball—are also eligible.

Eligible expenses include federation licenses, registration fees, insurance, coach salaries, sports equipment acquisition or repair, travel, and medical or physiotherapy services.

Additionally, the council highlighted its Municipal Sports School program, which offers various disciplines including football, sailing, tennis, martial arts, and adapted sports such as swimming and tennis, aimed at fostering community integration and healthy development.
