Yaiza officials demand action on Playa Blanca housing and tourism plans
The Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has raised concerns regarding the delay in allocating 42 public housing units purchased by the Canary Islands government and the Cabildo in Playa Blanca. Noda noted that more than a year and a half has passed since the keys were presented, yet the properties remain unassigned.
In addition to the housing issue, the Mayor is seeking a meeting with the Director of the Canary Islands Housing Institute to discuss the bidding process for constructing 136 affordable rental homes. Furthermore, Yaiza has requested a meeting with the Cabildo to address the Tourism Modernization Plan for Playa Blanca, emphasizing the need for better coordination and fluid communication between the various administrative levels involved.
