Yaka expands blueberry production to Greece and Turkey
Greek fresh produce exporter Yaka is expanding its blueberry production following several years of research and development. After conducting trials with 15 different varieties and various cultivation systems between 2020 and 2023, the company established a commercial operation in Komotini, Greece, in 2024 under the name Blue Farm company.
The Greek operation has already planted 40,000 plants, with a target of reaching 70,000. In its second year of plantation, the Greek site delivered approximately 50 tons of produce.
Building on the expertise gained in Greece, Yaka has also launched a second investment in Ipsala, Turkey. The company aims to reach 150,000 plants in Turkey, with the long-term goal of becoming the largest blueberry farm in the country.
