Yakima Valley nominated for Best Emerging Destination award

Yakima Valley has been named a finalist for the “Best Emerging Destination” award by the global travel website JRNY. The region is one of only eight American locations shortlisted for the international recognition.

Jenn Harrison, President and CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism, noted the nomination highlights the region's sense of discovery. The nomination follows previous accolades, including being named one of the top 10 wine regions in the United States by USA Today readers in 2024 and 2025.

The JRNY Awards aim to recognize destinations that demonstrate ambition and creativity while maintaining their unique qualities. The winner is scheduled to be announced in London on Friday, October 2nd. Other nominees in the United States include Cincinnati, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio; North Shore Oahu, Hawaii; Tupelo, Mississippi; Clarksdale, Mississippi; Kansas City, Missouri; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
