Turkey's Aladağlar and Ayvalık see rise in nature tourism

Turkey is seeing increased tourism interest in two distinct natural phenomena. In the Aladağlar mountain range, which spans Niğde, Kayseri, and Adana, new horseback riding tours have been introduced to diversify the region's traditional climbing and trekking activities. Local guide Ahmet Üçer, who has provided services in the area for 30 years, launched these tours to meet growing demand for exploring high-altitude plateaus, valleys, and glacial lakes.

In the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, the Yalancı Boğaz—a strait between Cunda Island and Maden Island—has become a popular destination during the summer. Due to receding sea levels, a shallow natural passage forms, allowing visitors to walk between the islands through the water. This phenomenon has gained significant traction through social media, attracting both domestic and international tourists looking for unique walking experiences.
