Yale defeats Holy Cross 38-28 behind Dante Reno's five touchdowns
Yale defeated Holy Cross 38-28 in their season opener on Saturday. Quarterback Dante Reno led the Bulldogs with five touchdown passes, completing 30 of 43 attempts for 454 yards.
Trailing 28-21 early in the fourth quarter, Yale scored 17 unanswered points to secure the victory. Reno’s scoring connections included an 18-yard pass to Jaxton Santiago and a 28-yard pass to Graham Smith. Santiago finished the game with 12 receptions for 234 yards, while Lucius Anderson recorded two touchdown catches for 155 yards.
Holy Cross, which remains winless at 0-4, saw Joseph Williams rush for 120 yards. David Lynch threw two touchdowns for Holy Cross but also threw a late interception that contributed to Yale’s final scoring drive.
