Yale University endowment reports 26.3% annual net return

The Yale University endowment achieved a record annual net return of 26.3% for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. As of June 30, 2026, the endowment managed a total of $54.5 billion.

In contrast to the high transparency provided by major US institutions like Yale, Harvard, and Princeton regarding their investment strategies and asset allocations, universities in Singapore face challenges in performance assessment. While Singapore's six autonomous universities—including the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University—publish audited financial statements, they often lack consistent disclosures regarding long-term investment returns and specific strategies. This inconsistency makes it difficult for stakeholders to compare performance effectively across the sector.
