Yalçın Yalman, known for Kumburgaz UFO footage, has died

Yalçın Yalman, a man known for capturing controversial UFO footage in Turkey, has passed away. Yalman died following a heart attack in Mahmudiye Village, located in the Ezine district of Çanakkale.

Between 2007 and 2009, while working as a night watchman in the Kumburgaz region of Istanbul, Yalman recorded footage of luminous, structured objects over the Marmara Sea. These recordings became a significant subject of debate among UFO researchers both in Turkey and internationally. While some technical evaluations, including those by the TÜBİTAK National Observatory, found no clear evidence of digital manipulation, the true nature of the objects remained a point of contention. Yalman maintained throughout his life that the footage proved the existence of extraterrestrial craft.

After moving to Ayvalık in 2010, Yalman continued his sky observations despite limited financial means and frequently appeared on national television to discuss his findings and the Kumburgaz incident.
