Yamada Store to open first Osaka location at Daimaru Umeda

Hyogo-based supermarket chain Yamada Store will expand into Osaka with its first location at the Daimaru Umeda department store. Scheduled to open on December 12, the new outlet will occupy approximately 800 tsubo (roughly 2,645 square meters) across the entire second basement floor.

The expansion coincides with the major renewal of the South Gate Building at JR Osaka Station, which includes the transformation of Daimaru Umeda's 10th to 15th floors into the new Lucua South commercial facility. Yamada Store is known for its direct connections with producers and its popular private brand products. The company aims to create a new food hub that combines the premium feel of a department store with the daily convenience of a supermarket.
