Yamagata to host autumn railway stamp rally

The Yamagata Railway Revitalization Project Promotion Council will host the ‘Autumn Yamagata Ekitag Stamp Rally’ from September 19 to November 8, 2026. The initiative aims to promote railway usage in Yamagata Prefecture during the autumn season and the prefecture’s ‘Public Transportation Strengthening Month’ in October.

Participants use the ‘Ekitag’ digital stamp application to collect stamps at 25 designated railway stations across four areas: Murayama, Mogami, Okitama, and Shonai. Depending on the number of stamps collected, participants can win various prizes through a lottery, including local railway goods, rice sets, fruit gifts, and ryokan accommodation vouchers.

In addition to the digital rally, several railway-themed events are scheduled at various stations, such as events at JR Yonezawa Station, JR Yamagata Station, and the Flower Nagai Line Festival. The project also utilizes the ‘Notte Good Yamagata’ portal and the ‘Yamagata Railway Support Group’ LINE official account to share travel information and campaign updates.
