Yamaguchi chiropractor rescues paralyzed kitten

Masanori Kojima, director of the Onoka chiropractic clinic in Sanyo-Onoda, Yamaguchi Prefecture, rescued a severely weakened kitten found on a mountain path in July 2026. The kitten, a calico named Mike, was suffering from hind limb paralysis, which experts suggested may have led to her being abandoned by her mother.

After providing medical care and applying energy therapy, Kojima reported a miraculous recovery. Within five days of rescue, Mike began walking normally without dragging her legs.

Mike has since become a fixture at the clinic, acting as a 'beckoning cat' (maneki-neko) for business prosperity. Kojima, who had never lived with a pet before, has decided to move to a pet-friendly residence to continue caring for her.
