Yamaha introduces 2027 YZF-R9 ABS with new colors in Japan

Yamaha has announced the release of the 2027 YZF-R9 ABS model in the Japanese market, scheduled for sequential release starting September 30. The update introduces new color options following changes to the manufacturing process, though the motorcycle's mechanical specifications, performance, and electronic features remain unchanged.

The 2027 lineup will feature three colors: the existing Blue, a new single-tone Black Metallic X designed for a sophisticated look, and a new Matte Dark Purplish Blue Metallic 1 featuring vermilion accents on the cowl, wheels, and front fender to appeal to younger riders.

The YZF-R9 is built on the ‘Re-DNAed Supersport’ concept, utilizing an 888cc liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder engine with a crossplane design. It is positioned as a high-performance yet accessible middle-class sport model. The retail price in Japan is set at 1,540,000 yen.
