Yamaha launches 2026 Y16ZR-R motorcycle in Malaysia
Yamaha has launched the 2026 Y16ZR-R in Malaysia, marking the first major upgrade for the model since 2020. The updated underbone motorcycle features a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), producing 18.5 hp and 14.4 Nm of torque.
Key technical enhancements include a six-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch, and the introduction of traction control—a first for this model type in its class. The bike also features a new LED headlight design, updated body panels, and a digital LCD dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone integration.
The standard model is available in three colors: Kouka Grey, Raijin Green, and Yoru Black. Additionally, Yamaha is releasing a limited edition ‘Pramac Racing Replica’ restricted to 3,000 units. This special edition features MotoGP-inspired livery and upgraded Öhlins adjustable rear shock absorbers.
