Yamaha leads Japan SOHO router market for 22nd consecutive year
Yamaha Corporation has secured the top market share in the Japanese SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) router market for the 22nd consecutive year. According to the ‘2025 Domestic Network Equipment Market Share’ report released by IDC Japan, Yamaha leads in vendor share by expenditure.
Since entering the network equipment business in 1995, Yamaha has expanded its portfolio from enterprise routers to include switches, wireless LAN access points, and UTM appliances. The company also provides the ‘Yamaha Network Organizer (YNO)’, a cloud-based service for remote integrated management of network devices. These solutions are utilized across various sectors, including medical care, education, retail, local government, and manufacturing.
In 2025, Yamaha released the RTX840, an upgraded branch router, and the NWR100, a wireless LAN router designed for ease of installation and operation. The company has also reached a milestone of 6 million cumulative shipments of network equipment. Additionally, Yamaha is exploring Media over IP (MoIP) technologies, recently participating in demonstration experiments for low-latency, high-capacity audio and video transmission during Interop Tokyo 2026.
