Yamaha Motor Brazil secures R$15 million from Finep to automate Manaus factory

Yamaha Motor do Brasil obtained a R$15 million public financing package from Finep, the Brazilian agency for research and innovation. The funds will be used to automate and digitise the company’s motorcycle plant in the Manaus Industrial Pole, installing robotic cells for fuel‑tank welding, automated tyre‑assembly lines and electronic traceability tools.

The seven‑year contract, signed in 2025, has already released R$12 million, with the remaining R$3 million scheduled for the second half of 2026. The upgrades are expected to cut energy consumption by up to 50%, reduce line‑operating time by about 10‑30%, and improve product quality and flexibility for market demand. The project is presented as the first long‑term strategic partnership between Yamaha and a Brazilian public innovation institution, aiming to boost the firm’s competitiveness in the domestic and export markets.
