Yamaha Motor reports record first-half sales and profits

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has reported record-high sales and profits for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2026. The company's performance was driven primarily by its two-wheel vehicle business, which saw a 12% increase in sales volume. This growth was fueled by rising demand in emerging markets, particularly in India and the ASEAN region, alongside increased sales of high-end models.

Key financial metrics for the period from January to June include consolidated revenue of 1.498 trillion yen, up 17.2% year-on-year, and operating profit of 158.5 billion yen, an 88.6% increase. Due to these strong results, the company has upwardly revised its full-year earnings forecast. Profitability was further supported by favorable exchange rates and price optimization.

In the broader Japanese market, July 2026 data for used light motorcycle sales shows Honda leading with 3,831 units, followed by Yamaha with 2,902 units and Kawasaki with 1,988 units.
